Welcome to your intermediate guide on the ASICS Runkeeper app! If you’ve figured out all the basics of the app and are looking for more, we’ve got you covered. We’ll walk through everything you need to know to take your Runkeeper experience to the next level and highlight some key features along the way.
Read on to learn how you can get more from your running (or walking) journey.
Track your workouts
The Runkeeper app has a lot of bells and whistles, but straightforward, easy tracking will always be our core feature. Designed for serious and casual runners alike, use GPS Mode to track all your outdoor activities, like walking, trail running, and even cycling. More focused on indoor workouts? Use Stopwatch Mode to track all stationary workouts like spinning, yoga, or treadmill running. With our extensive list of activities, you can keep track of everything that gets your blood pumping.
Forgot to track during your workout? No problem, just enter your activities manually.
Track your goals
Setting the right goals is essential to any fitness routine. Tracking them helps you stay accountable by measuring your progress along the way.
There are four types of goals you can create within the app:
- Total distance goals: Aim for a cumulative distance by a set date. Like cycling 50 miles before March 30.
- Longest Distance: Reach a specific distance for one activity before a set date, like completing a 1-mile swim before November 2.
- Finish Race: Set a race date and enter your target pace. Like running a half marathon on August 13.
- Lose Weight: Create a goal based on where you are now and where you’d like to be by a set date.
No matter what kind of goal you set for yourself, it’s hard to beat the sense of accomplishment once you reach your milestone.
Track your running and walking shoes
Experts recommend replacing running shoes after 300 to 600 miles or 482 to 966 kilometers. Once they’ve reached the end of their lifespan, they can’t provide you the same stability and support they used to. With Shoe Tracker, you can set up your shoes and have them automatically associated to your activities. Once your shoes are nearing their target distance, you’ll receive notifications alerting you it’s time for a new pair. We even recommend tracking more than one pair at a time so you’re ready for every terrain.
Review your stats
We know fitness is about more than just moving, it’s about improving! That’s why we’ve condensed everything you need to know about your workouts in the Me tab. Compare your progress week to week, month to month, or year to year to get a general overview of your activities. You can even filter your stats based on the activity to see the cumulative distance you’ve tracked, average pace, calories burned, and more. If you want more in-depth stats at an activity level, the Runkeeper Go™ premium has just what you’re looking for!
Connect your wearables
To give you even more data on your workouts, the Runkeeper app supports the most common wearables among our users: Apple Watch, Garmin, Fitbit, and TomTom MySports. If you want to track your heart rate, click here to confirm that your monitoring device is compatible! Track freely, knowing your data can be synced to one place.
Find your running community
The Runkeeper Community tab can be a great place to find your motivation and encouragement. Follow your friends to see their activities in your feed, where you can comment and like their content. You can even join or create a Running Group where you can chat and share goals based on distances or workout frequencies. Remember, running is always more fun when we do it together!
Take on Challenges
Challenges are a great way to be a part of the larger, global ASICS Runkeeper community. Monthly Challenges are distance based and restart on the first of each month. They’re designed to help you build a regular routine and keep you accountable. Seasonal Challenges, like our Run for Reforestation Challenge, are created to celebrate through movement. Plus, there are unique, local Challenges that are specific to your region. Find a Challenge that moves you by browsing the Explore tab in the app.
Run a virtual race
With more and more races creating virtual race options, there’s never been an easier time to start racing! With the Runkeeper app, you can register for virtual races and track them straight from the app. You can even access the leaderboard afterward to see how you did. Find available races for your area in the Explore Tab to start racing.
