personal best. confirms I won't break 30 minutes at Kempton. tried to at least start with a sub-6 minute kilometre but couldn't even do one. kept my pace visible on my phone the whole time, which made me aware of my fail much sooner than normal. fuck me i hate exercise. where's the sense of achievement for doing a pb?

Gareth Senior  ack! but you're so close! It is only a wafer-thin 30 seconds! On a race day you'll naturally run a bit faster cos you'll generate a bit of nervous energy, a bit of adrenalin maybe. If you want to build your pace, try running shorter distances at a faster pace, or at a slower rate with bursts of 100m of speed. You need to get your body used to running at a slightly faster rate.
