Week 8, Day 50 of 10K Time Goal Sub 60 minutes
I got back on the horse by doing some squats and heading out for this run. It started out great but once I ran out of gas I _stayed_ out of gas. Glad to be back after a week off but this running thing can be frustrating.

Week 6, Day 40 of 10K Time Goal Sub 60 minutes
I was a little tired from yesterday's run but still thought this run would go better. I just missed going under a nine minute pace. Nevertheless these past three runs gave me a baseline time for my goals in the 10K, 5K, and 1.5mile runs. Now I can just put my head down, work hard, and get better.

miamijuggler  i still think you should sign up for an event of some sort... but great work!
Bijan Himself  Lol... I'll get around to that eventually. I figure after I accomplish my current goals I can tackle the Half Marathon. Then train for the Full Marathon. So by ING 2013 you should probably look out.
miamijuggler  sign up for the 2013 ING on Monday or Tuesday. That's when it will be the cheapest. Fifty or sixty bucks for the full, I think. As opposed to 90 or 100 later in the year. Then compete in a half marathon as part of your training for the full.

Week 6, Day 38 of 10K Time Goal Sub 60 minutes
This was the first run that I've done in a while that wasn't bookended with Strength Training workouts on the previous and following days. I was also inspired to try and run a good time after reading the New York Times series called "The Lives They Lived," which featured a piece about Grete Waitz. I think she could probably run a marathon in the time it takes me to get out of bed every morning. I wasn't overly happy with my time considering the effort that I put in, but this seems to be just about as fast as I can go at this level of my development. I'm just going to have to keep at it and get faster.
