Kt Completed a 2.96 mi. running activity as part of my goal to run a total of 525mi
One of the hardest runs ever. Too much wind happening to worry about any form, speed or whatever else runners are supposed to focus on., 10 °C, 30mph NW, 55%

Kt  AH HA! Blair agrees that 52 km/h seems inaccurate! We figure more like 50 MILES per hour seems more correct.
S Penner  You are talking about the wind, not your run speed, right?
Kt Completed a 3.93 mi. running activity as part of my goal to run a total of 525mi
Upon the fence there stands no hawk; upon that fence today, a mighty rock, 15 °C, 25mph NNW, 49%

S Penner  Isn't it great when it all comes together on a nice holiday Monday?

Look upon the lonely loon, who lingers in his own lagoon. Listen to the loon today, no haunting lull has he to say. Perhaps the wind, perhaps the breeze. Perhaps he just caught a wheeze., 7 °C, WC: 3 °C, 12mph N, 64%

Kt  There are some pictures, a lot in some chapters to demonstrate the exersizes and form and then some chapters don't have anything really relevant (there is a picture at the beginning of each chapter that is just of people running). It's called Chi Running by Danny Dreyer
S Penner  So I went and bought the book and have started reading it.
Kt Completed a 3.84 mi. running activity as part of my goal to run a total of 525mi
Toooo hot. Need to work on a full-out plan, today = first day. We will see how it goes: m, w, f = lunch run 30-45 minutes then a circuit of excersizes from my various magazines; sat & sun = one day long run (1 - 1.5 hour) and/or circuit loop in the park (or maybe save that for tues or thurs) and a full amount of other stuff. This is the skeleton of my plan, it needs work, 17 °C, 8mph NE, 35%

S Penner  I thought you were just going to do "free runs" and have some fun out there for a while. This sounds way structured!
Kt  It is kind of, but i want to start doing the exersizes from the magazines (the reason i BUY the silly things). my running will be fairly loose and unstructured, but i want to make sure i do it more than i don't, you know?
Kt Completed a 4.10 mi. running activity as part of my goal to run a total of 525mi
Oh summer, how do I loathe thee? Let me count the ways: 1-sunburn 2-sleepless nights spent wishing I could take off my skin and muscles and sleep in my skeleton 3- summer onset asthma 4- the way 6 AM doesn't feel as early as it really is on account of Mr Summer Sun 5- the way 10 PM doesn't feel as late as it really is on account of Mr Summer Sun 6- allergies 7- it's so stinking bright all the time. On the other hand, the thunderstorms are pretty phenomenal, and as a photographer, the light at sunsets and sunrises is purely magical, 14 °C, 9mph NW, 27%

Wow...for the first 12 km that chi running technique really helped me along; relax, make a straight line, lean forward. But at 9 k I had some trouble. That's where I remembered that I was supposed to let my butt relax and the reason I remembered this is because if I chose to relax my butt at that moment unpleasant things would happen. That subsided and didn't happen again until JUST after the outhouse. So at 15 I was able to relieve myself but it felt do awful I wondered whether I could finish. On the last big 4 km long hill I walked with 'Number 1' (the RMS Run 'mascot' if you will) and then tried to finish the last half km in a jog, found my celebrity husband with the flowers for Mom and slogged through. Yes, holding ourselves in odd places we jog, slog, limp, hobble and crawl through the finish...we are runners.

It seems I have only one speed whether I FEEL fast or slow, it's all the same I guess. And am pleased to report: no wooden joints today! Theory confirmed, it really wasn't the new application *phew* oh yeah, and then on my last lap an entire class came racing down the hill., 9 °C, WC: 5 °C, 16mph N, 54%

Kt  Well, i couldnt' tell. They looked like they were probably a high school class of kids, but i really couldn't tell, they could have been grown ups for all i could tell. i got really stressed out because the two boys (or men) in the front of the pack were SO fast and i kept thinking they were right behind me which would have been so awful because i was going so slow
S Penner  No wonder you couldn't keep to a slow pace if you thought you were being chased by a bunch of high schoolers. Competitive urges kick in. See you at 5 today.
Kt Completed a 4.04 mi. running activity as part of my goal to run a total of 525mi
Halfway I started to have a pain in my tummy and it turned into a wooden kind of cramp that literally felt like my hip was becoming wood and not wanting to move which then progressed into a very uncomfortable pain in my hips. Now my legs feel twitchy...it's kind of cool, like they're electronic, 19 °C, 8mph SSE, 27%

S Penner  So how do you like it? I plan to try it after Saturday.
Kt  So far so good...although if you can believe it, i had found where auto-pause may actually be a nuisance, and i think (will have to confirm this) it autopauses when you walk for too long. i think yesterday i was going too slow for the 'run' setting at the end and it autopaused for me. Otherwise, pretty good! She's so excited when she tells you that you are 'half way to your goal'!
Kt Completed a 2.89 mi. running activity as part of my goal to run a total of 525mi
Oy, apparently it's still too early, got to start doing more speed work. But the mountains looked glorious with the thick, perfect white snow all looming ahead
