Heikki Kaplas  Correct me if I am wrong, but ain't coke a diuretic fluid? Isn't it supposed to hydrate than dehydrate? Or is there a other function to drink coke on a marathon..?
Eero Kuusisto  As far as I know it's the caffeine that gives it some diuretic properties. But on the other hand caffeine has been shown to increase performance (for short amount of time), so if used "correctly", I think Coke could give you some extra push at the end. They also have caffeinated energy gels for that. But no, not planning on using Coke this time :) Sports drink at every other station and a PowerBar Gel with water at every other is my plan. Have tried it out a couple of times during long runs, and it seems to work for me.
