Nicole, Rob and I rode tomorrow's A route today ... I did Munns and Millstream/Durrance without stopping! OK, so I was down to about 5 km/hr a few times ... but I did NOT get off my bike. I did stop at the top of Munns to catch my breath and consume a Honey Stinger ... fabulous ride. Quite windy out of the SSE ... but I feel good about this ride!! Legs are not tired ... knees don't hurt ... NICE!

Wow, I kinda covered Victoria today, lol. PERFECT day for a ride, absolutely gorgeous. It was, actually, nice to have a ride that was just for me. Didn't have to lead, didn't have to worry about anyone else. Saw two RH buddies on the road, and that was lovely ... AND LOOK AT THAT AVERAGE TEMPERATURE!!! WOW!!!

This was more or less of a reconnaissance mission: we took our time and enjoyed the journey. What a beautiful ride! Newman to Wallace to Amity was a total surprise: the view from there is SPECTACULAR!!! Lovely company with Monica, Steph and Peter, and we ended up with a BBQ at our house. This could become a regular Gran Fondo training night (including the BBQ at our house!). Wasn't as bad as I'd thought it might be, given the code id by head ... but that's why we took it easy.

Kinda guessing at the km. Main swim drills were 1500 then we did a bunch of "open water swimming" drills ... like swimming through waves, starting from a "standing position," swimming around a buoy ... was good fun. Maybe 1700 in total.

An easy afternoon ride on a beautiful day with my friend Colleen, who is training for the Fondo with another group of women. She wasn't able to make their ride, and asked me if I was riding. We got a group ride together in a matter of moments! Great ride in the sunshine with good friends. PS You know you're slightly obsessed about getting the NUMBER when you wheel your bicycle up and down the driveway until the number moves from 49.98 to 50.00. (My GPS shows 50.0 not 49.83.)

Great run in the sun with friends. Claudia was hurting after 11 so we slowed down and walked a fair bit but that's OK! My knees held up relatively well although they did bother me. We did 10 & 1s for the most part. GORGEOUS day.

A blustery wet morning turned into a breezy, sunny evening. Nice run with Sausage Foot (aka Peter) for the first 22 minutes then took off a bit on my own. Ran the whole 8.5 without walking for the hamstring or knee. Knee hurt a bit so I diverted off the Goose (which was a gradual downhill all the way back) and climbed a little bit, which helped. Knee hurt at the end but not badly ... that's progress!!! Walked it off at the end ... tried to hold my average pace to between 6:00 and 6:30 so I won't hurt myself ...

I meant to do 7 or 8 K and accidentally did 11 or so. Felt pretty good, and focussed on not locking/hyperextending my knees on the down hills. I think it works fairly well! Still had some knee pain and did some walking but overall I'm fairly happy with this run. :-)
