We are looking for a senior software engineer to lead new mobile projects from concept to implementation. You will be working on the development of key functionality and infrastructure across the entire RunKeeper system in areas such as fitness tracking, coaching, social features, analytics and device integration.
Responsibilities
- Hands-on development for iOS and Android
- Hands-on development of Java-based web applications
- Writing solid, well-documented code, and rooting out hard-to-find issues to ensure quality
- Learn fast and not be afraid to tackle new technologies
- Thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
Requirements
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent degree and 5+ years of experience
- Strong project management skills
- Self-starter who enjoys taking projects from inception to completion
- Experience with many of the following: iOS, Android , Java, Objective-C, JSP, JavaScript, AJAX, SQL, Facebook APIs, OAuth, or Agile/Scrum

RunKeeper is looking for a visual design intern this summer to support a spectrum of branding and communication design needs. While this is a part time position, there is an opportunity to have an impact on the outward facing communication and branding initiatives of one of the top consumer mobile startups in Boston.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with our content manager to source and create images for blog posts, e-mail marketing campaigns and infographics for data-driven stories
- Support the visual needs for blog design and functionality and other website revamping
- Work with our in-house visual designer to produce visual assets around RunKeeper product releases
Requirements
- Must be creative, flexible and able to work part time for 2-3 days/week in our Boston office
- HTML required with the ability to create and code landing/marketing/web pages and emails from scratch
- Expert in Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator with a focus on graphic/visual design

OK now that we got those out of the way we wanted to tell you that we're looking for a (take a deep breath because this is a mouthful) UI designer who understands the delicate balance of impeccable aesthetics AND simplistic functionality to work in a fast-paced, results-based, agile tech startup environment (PHEW!). At RunKeeper we believe great UX is everyone's responsibility. It will be your job to let the team at large know what our users want – and help everyone make informed decisions at all times.
Responsibilities
- Create mockups and all visual assets across iOS, Android and the web
- Maintain component libraries and documentation around visuals for use by developers
- Ensure visual and UX quality standards for releases
- Work with UX Designers and Product Managers to ensure we're creating optimal and well thought out UX
Requirements
- 2-3 years' experience in UI Design
- Skilled in Photoshop, Illustrator and other Adobe products
- Ability to work in an agile environment
- Strong portfolio of mobile and web UI design work
- No design primadonnas ‐ designs need to be intuitive first, and beautiful second

You will be the third person joining our Support Team to practice our first and most important core value: users come first. Responsibilities
- Answering an average of 50 support tickets/day
- Writing Knowledge Base articles describing the RunKeeper app and website
- Assist in weekly and monthly support reporting to product team
Requirements
- Enrolled in a Bachelor's program or recent graduate
- Tech savvy problem solver, who is familiar with mobile/web technologies
- Strong communication skills and thick skin
- RunKeeper user is highly desired
- Must be able to commit to 90 days for 40 hours per week in our Boston office
