RunKeeper is seeking a software engineer that is experienced with mobile application development to lead our mobile development efforts. This person will be responsible for all smartphone development, including iPhone, Android, Blackberry, and any other relevant platforms as we grow.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Work closely with our head of product and head of usability to continually refine the product and secure our leadership position in the iPhone App Store.
• Take what we have done on the iPhone platform and replicate it on Android and Blackberry, taking into account the device-specific SDKs, approval processes, and design guidelines, as well as maximizing performance on each device/platform.

Requirements:

• Seeking hands-on developer who is self-starter and enjoys taking responsibility for a project from inception to completion.
• Plans carefully, tests thoroughly, and executes quickly.
• Passion for writing solid, well-documented code, and rooting out hard-to-find issues to ensure quality
• Solid experience with mobile application development on at least one of the following smartphone platforms - Blackberry, iPhone, Android.
• Quick learner and not afraid to tackle new technologies.
• Thrives in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment that rewards execution over strategy.

Location:

Virtual team today, but everyone is local to Boston. We meet twice a week as a team and speak often through a variety of communications tools.

RunKeeper is seeking a software engineer that is experienced in Java web development to lead some of our web based development efforts.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Work closely with our head of product and head of usability to continually refine the product and secure our leadership position in the iPhone App Store and to allow us to replicate this success in other upcoming areas.
• Develop new web-based capabilities using JSPs/Java, Ajax, etc.
• Seamlessly integrate new offerings with our existing web capabilities, Google Maps, Facebook, mobile apps, and more.

Requirements:

• Seeking hands-on developer who is self-starter and enjoys taking responsibility for a project from inception to completion.
• Plans carefully, tests thoroughly, and executes quickly.
• Passion for writing solid, well-documented code, and rooting out hard-to-find issues to ensure quality
• Experience in most of the following: Java, JSPs, AJAX, SQL, Google Maps API, JavaScript, Facebook Connect APIs, OAuth, Eclipse
• Quick learner and not afraid to tackle new technologies.
• Thrives in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment that rewards execution over strategy.
