For most of us, summer is the time to break out the sunscreen, the bathing suits, and of course, the running gear! But as the temperature begins to increase, so does the importance of staying hydrated.
Sadly, for many people, access to clean and safe water is not assured. Millions of children around the globe do not have safe, clean water to drink. Lacking clean water is not merely inconvenient — it can be lethal. But you can help!
Log a run or walk of six miles or more between June 29 and July 10, and you will help UNICEF unlock funds to provide clean water for children in need. Every day in the developing world, women and children embark on lengthy journeys to obtain water for their communities. Now you can help ease their work by embarking upon your own!
REWARDS
Each user who completes the challenge will unlock funds that will be used to provide three days' worth of clean water to a child in need.
After you log a run or walk of at least six miles*, the funds you unlock will help UNICEF deliver water purification tablets in your honor. Each tablet is capable of making over a gallon of polluted water safe to drink!
*Only running and walking activities are accepted. GPS and Stopwatch activities are eligible for this challenge. Manually logged activities will not count.
